Dave, who has been playing guitar for 39 years, has a large musical family history. With a father who played the banjo, harmonica and ukulele and sang tenor in a barber shop quartet, it was his brother Dick would come home on leave from the Navy with his guitar and play and sing all the popular tunes from the 50’s and 60’s that first influenced him.
Dave started playing the guitar at the age of 14 after listening to Johnny Winter’s first album with Columbia records, produced by Willy Dixon. It was Johnny’s thumping back beat, searing progressive leads, and his unique distinctive holler, "AWWWW YEAAAA!!!!!!" that first hooked Dave on the blues. Since that time he has played with numerous musicians .
