I started out liking progressive groups like Genesis (the early stuff), but really got into punk in the mid seventies. I do own and listen to a broad range of music from classical (OK I admit it - I love the Houston Ballet) through to hard rock (stop around System of a Down :-).

Bands I particularly like are The Cure, The The, Tool.

• I used to play guitar/bass and noodle around with home recording. I've been in a couple or three bands over the years.
  
  Two years ago I had a stroke, which means I am truly "brain dead" :-)
  Well at least partly. I've had to re-learn a lot of things but my left hand doesn't work well enough to play guitar.
  
  In frustration, I'm learning keyboard/midi/sequencing/programming, whatever I can do.

• When I do my own thing it usually comes out 80's electronic. I want to put a harder edge to it. I really want to work on original songs. Whatever we can come up with. It's an experiment. Instrumentals would be ok but I do like songs with some meaning. I just can't write or sing them :-( Maybe you can. I don't intend to gig, but to record. Maybe latter if it comes out good. My recent experience at working in a band is that the more people involved the harder it is to achieve anything. So I'm thinking a guitarist/singer/songwriter would be ideal, but I'm open. I wouldn't mind working with a female (think Eurhythmics :-). I'm open to all ages. I'm learning so you can be too. I just enjoy the challenge.
