I am a semi-pro guitarist from Detroit, MI. I have participated in the development and performance of predominantly original Rock music for some 15 years now.
After attending Oakland University School of Music, I played in local Jazz, Blues and Rock ensembles followed by an extended engagement in Detroit's infamous Sillies. I have performed and recorded with various indie and roots bands since coming to Chicago in 1997. I have recently participated in local musical theater, and several recording projects.
My playing has been described as soulful, melodic and orchestral sounding. I tend to fill in the gaps adding toughness and beauty to the music I play.
I am most comfortable in original Roots or Independent Rock music.

My influences include Rock such as Yes, King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Raconteurs, Muse, Wolf Mother, Pink Floyd, Led Zepelin, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave; Jazz such as John Coltrane, Don Cherry, Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, Archie Shepp, Art Blakey, Jazz Crusaders.
I enjoy surprises in my music along with elements of African, Arabic, and Indian sounds and cadences.
Experience
- I am Semi-pro, having performed in taverns, bars, minor arenas, listening rooms, and smaller sized outdoor concerts (10,000+ audience). I can get around any stage relatively jitter free at this point. I completed hundreds of hours of studio and out board recording time in the last 20 years. I know what it takes (and takes and takes) to deliver commercial quality recordings.
Looking For
- I seek thoughtful, cultural and gender diverse collaboration on predominantly original music for performance and recording. I enjoy covers so long as I can add my own interpretations to the body of effort. I can meet up to four times a week for rehearsals and performances, but I prefer weekly rehearsals with performances as often as I can get them.
As a realistic, veteran performer I do this primarily for the love not for the money.
