Bio
-
I am a vocalist looking for interesting people to play/record with. Weary of the conventions surrounding music and the artificial segregation of artistic disciplines, I am hoping to find very open minded individuals capable of collaborating on songs, soundtracks for performances, scores, etc. Those interested should have a good work ethic, some semblance of skill/talent, a sense of humor and the capacity to improvise. Influences
-
David Bowie, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, U2, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Robbie Williams, Sarah McLaughlin,, Nirvana, Radiohead, Butthole Surfers, Coldplay, Pixies, Velvet Underground, Janes Addiction, Rage Against the Machine, no particular order(this is not a band name.)
Experience
- I've been involved in bands from the sacred to the profane and back. Art bands to cover bands. I like the recording process best. That and just improvising, stream of consciousness-style.
Looking For
- My ideal group is a tall order. It would be about five or six musicians from wildly different backgrounds and styles who were equally competent on stage and in the studio, really liked each other and were ready for anything. By that I mean they would be down for composing and performing soundtracks for experimental theatre but weren't so full of themselves that they wouldn't play a cover song (or a set of them!) for the right reasons.
Specifically I would love to find a musician(on pretty much any instrument) who can harmonize on back-up vocals. percussion, absolutely. melody-making, definitely. But the traditional four-piece rock band formula is not necessary. keyboards of all types are cool guitars of all types are cool but so are computers and power tools (no, that is not a typo!) if the occasion warrants them.
