I enjoy listening to bebop, cool and hard bop jazz.

• Played percussion in jr. high and high school bands. Began playing the tenor sax in 2001 at age 49. Took private lessons for a total of five years. Played two years with the Davis Adult Jazz Band, a student band led by local musician-educator Adam Jenkins. I also jam occasionally with members of that band in Davis.

• Adults who enjoy playing and improvising on jazz standards. Less interested in performing than getting together to jam. Ideal group would be a 5-7 person ensemble: drums, bass, keyboard, me on tenor, with alto, trumpet and/or trombone. But any combination of those instruments would be fine to start out with.
