Experience
  • I frequented the cafe and club circuit alone a couple of years back, playing at CBGB, The Bitter End, The Listening Room/Caffe Vivaldi, DT-UT, The Psychic Cafe, The Underground Lounge, The Creek and the Cave, The Four-Faced Liar, and The Baggot Inn. I released a CD that got good online reviews, and I'm currently with a band-in-progress called The Sorely Missed.

Looking For
  • I play acoustic guitar, and right now I'm mainly looking for a guitarist/harmony vocalist (preferably female), a keyboard player, and a drummer who can play congas or other light percussion, but I'm open to any and all other instruments for the CD and live shows. The style of music is in the Indigo Girls / James Taylor / Jules Shear area. My songs tend to be lyrically dense but are musically pretty basic (all standard G C D F Am progressions, though I do use a capo so shifts will happen), so you don't need to be astonishingly versatile.

While I'd love for the band to achieve some kind of success, I do have a real job and a family, so the main idea here is to have fun and keep things casual and low-key. I'd pay you for your CD recording time and split any pay or tips from performances, but I'm certainly not going into this expecting financial rewards so please don't delude yourself; I'm a songwriter who needs a backing band, and you're a backing musician who needs a songwriter. Above all, the point is to have fun, so personality is also important; I'm easygoing and humorous and would be happy if a general friendship grew out of the experience as well.
