Influences
-
Everything! Early rock & roll, doo-wop, Motown, British invasion, LOVE late sixties stuff, Hendrix, Clapton, Bloomfield, Moby Grape, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Sloan, Fountains of Wayne, Adrian Belew, Zappa, power pop, R&B, etc. I have 2 million favorite songs.
Experience
- Church choir as a kid, Staten Island Junior Symphony Orchestra (2nd trumpet), Brooklyn Tech marching band, local R&B group the Illusions. Drafted & served in the Army '68-'70. Then a parade of local bar bands: Trust, Holy Mynah, Poyzun, the legendary $ara band. Founding member of Brooklyn wedding/club band Music Box. Joined the Mystics (1959 #1 hit Hushabye) as music director/guitar/tenor in 1982, stayed with them until they moved to Florida in 2007. Stint with Mystics included work as the Brooklyn Reunion, which included the Passions & Emil Stucchio & the Classics, and performances in venues like Radio City Music Hall, Westbury Music Fair, arenas, and theatres. During that time had a bar band Dead End (later Ichabod), doing covers & originals in local watering holes. Performed and/or recorded with Bop Shop, Dino & the Heartspinners, Deja Vu, Keys to the City, the Chimetones. Also did session work as background harmony specialist and guitarist. Enjoy writing and recording my original songs. Currently performing all over New York City and vicinity as member of fun sixties band Side B (www.SideB60s.com).
