Bio
I'm a young "50 something" keyboard player and admitted "geezer rocker". I've been playing for roughly 30 years and am hoping to squeeze another 30 more in before I quit.

    My keyboard rig consists of:
    - Yamaha CP300 Digital Piano
    - Roland RD700SX synth
    - Yamaha Motif ES Rack synth engine
    - Small Stereo PA (Yamaha 12 Channel mixer, QSC Power
    amp, 2 JBL Floor wedges)

I own a near complete PA system (everything but monitor speakers) of quality components (Allen & Heath MixWiz 16:2 board, Yamaha Mains and Subs, QSC Power, DBX DriveRackPA electronics along with all the necessary snakes and cabling) - all racked and prewired for easy transport and setup.

I also have 6,000 watts of DMX lighting (4 Chauvet StageWash 1500 fixtures, Chauvet DMX-44 Controller, stands and cabling)

I can be contacted via email to [email]

Influences
My musical tastes run the gamut. The stuff that is in heavy rotation on my iPod these days include alot of Tower Of Power, Cold Blood, Jazz Crusaders, Jimmy Buffet, Elvin Bishop, Delbert McClinton. I love the sound of R&B type stuff played "big" with a full horn section.

The music I enjoy playing includes R&B, Motown, "Old School" Funk, Oldies, Classic Rock, pop, jazz and even a little country - and am willing to play pretty much anything that's marketable.

The only material I have no desire to play would be anything that might get classified as rap or hip/hop. I'm also no at interested in anything that might be considered "metal" (of any sub-genre).
Experience
  • My playing "career" started while in Army stationed in Germany. My first band was a "funk" band that played classic '70s funk stuff - Commodores, Confunktion, Rick James, Heatwave, Dazz Band, etc. My college band (It's My Party) - was a fulltime act (4-6 nights a week) that focused on a fare of Motown, Top 40, Rock and typical "Animal House" material. Since those days, I've done a buh-zillion weekends with various variety/cover bands - either as a full time member of the band or as a substitute - including my current act "Rhythm 21".

Although I'm not a "trained" musician - I've picked up a pretty good understanding of basic theory over the 30+ years I've been playing. While I'll never pass as a "reader", I can work from charts given a few minutes to prepare a song. I've got a decent ear and a solid sense of time.

I'll never be confused with a lead singer - but can and do sing backups and harmonies. I contribute to the vocals on roughly 50% of the material my current act does.
Looking For
  • I am actively looking for a new project.

My perfect musical situation would land me a spot in a group of competent musicians. We'd be playing a variety of musical styles - all of which would be danceable and marketable. We'd be rehearsing once a week and gigging 2-3 nights a month. My bandmates and I would be professional (i.e., on time, homework done, have pro gear - and have their personal stuff together (i.e., no substance abuse issues, no home / family / work problems disrupting rehearsals and gigs).

My perfect musical situation would be a working (or near working) band. I'm looking to play out on a regular and consistent basis (2-3 nights a month). Although I like getting paid to play - I am NOT in it solely for the money. I don't have any problems investing time and effort on a project that is progressing and that has potential to develop into a paying gig in the future.

If you've got something going that you think I may be a good fit for - drop me an email at [email]
