Bio of Jaime Silva
Jaime was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His mother is a retired Music Teacher (piano) and his father was a singer with a deep voice.
Jaime started learning the piano early with his mother but guitar and bass have always been his passion. He continued private lessons with various instructors on bass, piano, and keyboard.
With a natural good ear he learned acoustic guitar with his older cousins.
He began private bass lessons for 2 years and began performing on bass with a Bossa Nova band and an MPB band (Brazilian Pop).
He enrolled in the CIGAM Music School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he studied Jazz Harmony for Keyboard and Bass Guitar for 4 years. He is well versed in matters of Jazz and Improvisation. He also performed in several bands on bass and keyboard.
Jaime continued his education at the Antonio Adolfo Music Technology School studying Music Composition and Studio Arrangement.
His working career includes 10 years at the Don Nei Recording Studio in Brazil and 12 years as a Music Instructor. He is a song writer and arranger. He has participated in cd recordings for various musicians and singers. Throughout, Jaime has always been a performer in various bands on bass.
